To celebrate the release of BABYMETAL’s new album METAL FORTH, we’re hosting a costume contest at select in-store events. Whether you’re serving theatrical metal energy, DIY kawaii chaos, or a look that’s entirely your own — all interpretations are welcome.

HOW TO ENTER:

• Come to the in-store event dressed in your best BABYMETAL-inspired outfit.

• Let a staff member know you’d like to enter the costume contest.

• You’ll be entered into the contest and have your photo taken (with consent) for judging.

THE PRIZE:

The winner will receive a special piece of official BABYMETAL baseball jersey!

INCLUSIVITY NOTICE:

This contest celebrates creativity, not cost. All styles, budgets, and abilities are welcome. Whether you’ve handmade your look, reimagined your wardrobe, or brought something totally unexpected — it’s your passion that counts.

To ensure fairness and consistency across stores, two staff members will vote on the winner using the following simple scoring system:

Each costume will be scored out of 5 in the following categories:

1. Creativity – How original or inventive is the outfit?

2. Effort – How much time or care appears to have gone into the look?

3. BABYMETAL Spirit – Does the outfit reflect the themes, energy, or aesthetic of BABYMETAL?

4. Confidence & Presence – How confidently the participant presents their look (regardless of how flashy or simple it is).

Each category can receive a score from 1 to 5 (with 5 being highest), giving a total possible score out of 20 per judge.
