BIG CROWN DAY

Hey, hey!

Check it out:

From open (10 am) to close (8 pm) on Saturday, October 24, we'll be giving away Big Crown stickers and 11-x-17" posters (while supplies last) -- AND you can enter to win a grand raffle prize: an exclusive 10-year anniversary tote bag containing a copy of the "Ten Years of Big Crown" 2xLP. (We'll have a raffle box out all day to receive your entry (no need to be in person for the winning entry drawing.)

Meanwhile, we have limited releases for you to preorder (call the shop 614-421-9455 or email booking@usedkidsrecords.com).

THEY ARE:

DJ Koco - 10 Years of Big Crown DJ Mix (cassette): DJ Koco's mixtape showcases selections from the entire Big Crown 45 catalog — a true crate-digger's victory lap.

Big Crown X WaxPoetics (limited-edition magazine & 7”): Wax Poetics goes deep with a 7”x 7”, 40-page magazine about Big Crown to celebrate the indie label's anniversary. Tucked into the front cover: an exclusive 7”, record featuring El Michels Affair's “Aheeme” b/w Dave Guy’s “Here Tomorrow, Gone Today” — available nowhere else.

"Ten Years of Big Crown" 2xLP:

The definitive Big Crown retrospective. Founded by Leon Michels and Danny Akalepse in 2016 on one simple rule — put out music they believe in, genre irrelevant — Big Crown has grown into one of the most respected independent labels in the world. This double LP pulls together essential cuts from across the catalog: Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band, Lady Wray, Brainstory, Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek, El Michels Affair, Thee Lakesiders, Dave Guy, Les Imprimés, Homer, Thee Marloes, Lee Fields & The Expressions, Bobby Oroza, Marco Benevento, The Shacks, Paul & The Tall Trees, Thee Heart Tones, Surprise Chef, 79.5, Liam Bailey, and Holy Hive. Liner notes by journalist/DJ Jeff Mao tell the story behind it all.

See you here Saturday Oct 24!
